Five Ways Writing Your Book Supports Your Business Success
Whether you are just beginning to outline the chapters of your first book or you have a bookshelf filled with your powerful words, as an entrepreneurial author, you will want to leverage your writing to make an impact on your company and brand.
Here are five ways that having a well-marketed business book can support the needs of your company and brand.
- Garner credibility as the ‘expert.’
Having a well-written book that you authored positions you as the go-to person in your field. You can demonstrate your knowledge while adding to the reader’s deeper understanding of the topic. Books can give you the ability to teach and lead through your written word.
Personally, I find great joy in being able to tell the world about my expertise, which I was able to do through writing and publishing 13 books; keynoting internationally; creating an expert-level training series on branding, marketing and social media; and becoming a best-selling author. I am frequently requested to speak on being an author on podcasts, on live television and in magazines. You, too, will become an expert in your niche area of business.
- Create authenticity for your brand story.
By adding to your reader’s knowledge base, you can garner their trust and respect for your brand. Readers will know that you are the authority on the subject matter. Your nonfiction book can open their eyes to how they could hire you or inform them about your products or services in a non-salesy way.
- Attract your ideal clients or customers.
The connection you can create with your readers is powerful. Since I have written and marketed my books (most of which are award-winning and international bestsellers), I know the power of having my books convert readers to clients. My coaching clients often seek me out when they are inspired and ready to do the work described in my book Ball Gowns to Yoga Pants: Entrepreneurial Secrets for Creating Your Dream Business and Brand.
While I was keynoting internationally, on stages from the University of Oxford in England to Passions to Profits in Hollywood, I was constantly approached afterward to find out how I balance being a CEO of a motivational media company, being an executive director of an international nonprofit helping women and children around the world and being the editor-in-chief of a magazine, all while being a dedicated mompreneur.
The book Ball Gowns to Yoga Pants provides ten secrets of success for building your brand and creating your dream company. With a well-crafted and marketed book, you are attracting the right people to be your clients because the relationship has begun before they even finish the last page.
- Market and spread your message broadly.
Credibility, connection and even cash can be yours when you are operating as the expert while communicating your message far and wide. The funds from book sales might not make you rich; however, the contracts that can come from utilizing your book as a marketing tool to go international with your messaging, knowledge and expertise certainly can get you to your goals!
- Open doors to lucrative opportunities.
Speaking opportunities, clients being attracted in and brand success are within reach when you have a book that establishes you as the authority that you truly are.
With your book properly marketed, the right people will seek you out for your services and/or products because you are the expert on a problem that they want to solve. It is time for the world to know who you are, what you are the authority in and what you stand for. Writing your book can be the key to open doors of opportunity that were once locked to you.
